Information
This weigh station used color-coded signs to indicate open or closed. Closed is lit up with red letters and open is lit up with green letters.
Alternate Route Information
If you are coming off I 26, take exit 172 A for route 15 south. Go 2.2 miles to the flashing yellow light for route 178 and turn left. You’ll be on route 178 for 5.2 miles until you come to the left turn for route 453. This is poorly marked- there is a sign before the turn that says “Holly Hill 8 miles” and indicates a left turn and there is a Video Den on the right. Turn left and go 1.2 miles to the ramp for I 26 east. It is a right turn.
If you are coming from I 95, take exit 82 for route 178, Harleyville/Bowman. Go east on route 178 toward Harleyville. You’ll go 2.5 miles to the flashing red light at route 15. Go straight and continue on 178 for another 5.2 miles until you come to the left turn for route 453. This is poorly marked- there is a sign before the turn that says “Holly Hill 8 miles” and indicates a left turn and there is a Video Den on the right. Turn left and go 1.2 miles to the ramp for I 26 east. It is a right turn. - EB
Alternate Route Information
Take exit 177 for route 453. Go south on route 453 for 1.3 miles to the dead end stop sign at route 178. There is a Derrik’s Country Kitchen restaurant on your right before you get to route 178 with a sign that says “trucker’s welcome.” Turn right on route 178 and go 5.2 miles to the flashing red light at the junction of route 15. What way you go here depends on where you’re headed.
If you are going to be returning to I 26, turn right and go up 2.5 miles to the ramp for west bound I 16. You’ll cross over the interstate and it will be a right turn for the ramp.
If you’re heading to I 95, don’t turn onto route 15. Continue straight on route 178 for another 5 miles and you will come to the junction with I 95. - WB
