Parking: There is a TA truck stop at exit 266 on I 10 just south/west of the I 10, I 59, I 12 junction south of the Nicholson weigh station. There is a parking area north of exit 6 and a Texaco with a truck lot across the street at exit 10 north of the Picayune truck scale.
Alternate Route Information
Take exit 1 in Mississippi for route 11 north. Turn left off the ramp- this ramp is small and old. You’ll go up 3.6 miles to the light. You’ll cross over one rail road crossing that is flat (not raised) and you’ll pass several businesses- Hunt’s Auto Electric (starters, alternators, batteries- truck access), Ace Hardware, and Industrial Trucks and Trailer (truck parts and service- phone # 601-798-2985). There is also an industrial park you will pass by. When you get to the light, turn right- on the right corner at the light there is a Dub Herrig used car sales and on the left is an old BP gas station that is now an APG gas. After the right turn, you’ll go 1 mile to the ramp for I 59 north- it is a left turn. There are various businesses that have parking lots that can allow truck access. - NB
Alternate Route Information
Take exit 4 and turn right off the ramp (away from route 43 south). You’ll go up a mile to the dead end at the light for route 11 and turn left. There are various businesses along this route with parking lots large enough to allow truck access. After the left turn, you’ll go 3.5 miles to the right turn for the ramp to I 59 south- this is a small, old ramp. You’ll pass several truck services and an industrial park along route 11- Industrial Truck and Trailer (truck parts and service, phone # 601-798-2985), Ace Hardware, Hunt’s Auto Electric (starters, alternators and batteries). You’ll also cross over a flat rail road crossing- this is not a raised crossing at all. - SB
