Parking: Exit 52 has a Phillips 66 truck stop south of the Litchfield weigh station. There is a rest area at mm 64.5 north of the truck scale.
Alternate Route Information
This route has a 13’9″ railroad overpass. Before following this route, make sure DOT isn’t set up- I have heard of them taking the portables out that way. There is a Cemetery on the east side of the town of Litchfield just before the land fill entrance that has a wide shoulder area. Take exit 52 for route 16 and turn right. You’ll go through the town of Litchfield. You’ll be on route 16 for 8.3 miles. You’ll pass Sievers Equipment tractor sales on your right not too far before you get tor route 127. Turn left onto route 127. You’ll be on route 127 for 11 miles- you’ll go past the Montgomery County fair grounds and the town of Butler. There is a small post office along the roadside in Butler. Just before you get to the dead end (route 127 turns left to run with route 48), you’ll go under the rail road over pass marked 13’9″ which doesn’t look like it leaves a lot of room for play if you are loaded tall. A 13’6″ truck will have no problems. Turn left at the stop sign onto route 48 (still following route 127). You’ll go 2.5 miles back to the ramp for I 55 north. This puts you out at exit 63.
