Parking: There is a Petro truck stop and a Flying J truck stop at exit 160 south of the Carnesville weigh station. There is a rest area at mile marker 177 and a Raceway and Texaco at exit 173 north of the truck scale. There is also truck parking at the Hardee’s at exit 173 north of the Carnesville weigh station.
Alternate Route Information
Take exit 173, which is a turnaround-style exit, and turn right off the ramp. You’ll cross over I 85. You’ll go about 9 miles to route 51 south- this is a right turn at a flashing yellow light about 2.5 miles past the left turn for route 51 north. Turn right at route 51 south. You’ll be on route 51 south for 5.3 miles- after 3 miles, you’ll pass through a stop sign at route 327, stay straight. You’ll come to route 145- you’ll turn right onto route 145. You’ll follow route 145 into the town of Carnesville- route 145 will turn left, go one block, turn right, go one block and turn right again at the light in town. You’ll follow it all the way to the ramp for I 85 south.
