Alternate Route Information
Note- there are two 27 ton bridges and a “no thru trucks” and “no trucks over 56,000 lbs” restriction on the last leg of this route- but there are trucks running that stretch.
You’ll take exit 22 for route 41 south. You’ll turn right off the ramp. You will follow signs for Moody Air Force Base. Route 41 will take you to route 125- you will have a left turn along this stretch- but keep following signs for Moody Air Force Base. You’ll be on Inner Perimeter Road until you come to route 125. You’ll pass a Wal-Mart Super Center and a Ryan’s Steak House on your right. When you come to the light at route 125, there will be a First State Bank on the south west corner of the intersection. You will turn left. You’ll be on route 125 for 11.3 miles until you come to the flashing yellow light at route 122. You will pass by Moody Air Force Base. When you get to the flashing yellow light, turn left at route 122- there will be a Pure Oil station on the north east corner of the intersection. You’ll be on route 122 for a total of 12.1 miles. You’ll go over 2 27 ton weight limit bridges and, when you get to the town of Hahira, you will see signs for “no thru trucks” and “no trucks over 56,000 lbs.” There are trucks running route 122 all the time. When you get back to I 75, turn right to go north. - NB
Alternate Route Information
Take exit 29 for route 122 east and the town of Hahira. You’ll turn left off the exit ramp and go through the town of Hahira. There are signs that say “load limit 56,000 lbs” and “no thru trucks.” You’ll be on route 122 east for a total of 12.2 miles and over two weight-limited bridges. These bridges are marked for 27 tons (54,000 lbs). After 12.2 miles you’ll come to the flashing red light at route 125. There will be a Pure Oil station on the north east corner of the intersection. You will turn right on route 125 and head toward Valdosta- this whole way, you will be following signs for Moody Air Force Base. When you are on route 125, you’ll go past Moody Air Force Base- the air force base will be on both sides of the roadway. You will be on route 125 for 11.3 miles until you come to the light for route 41. There is a First State Bank on the south west corner of the intersection. You will turn right on route 41- it is marked “to I 75.” This stretch is route 41 but it is also called Inner Perimeter Road. After you turn onto route 41 you’ll passa Wal-Mart Super Center and Ryan’s Steak House on your left. You will go a total of 5.8 miles on route 41 back to I 75. When you turn onto route 41, you’ll pass the turnoff (to the left) for business 41 in about 1.5 miles and for old route 41 in 4.2 miles. When you get back to I 75, cross the freeway and turn left onto the ramp for I 75 south. - SB
