Alternate Route Information
THERE IS A WEIGH STATION/CHECK STATION ON THIS ROUTE WHERE DOT WILL SOMETIMES SET UP. Off 101 north, take the exit for route 23 north in Thousand Oaks. Go north on route 23 about 8 miles to the exit for route 118 west in Moorpark. Go west on 118 for 8 miles. You’ll come to the weigh station where DOT sets up sometimes after about 5 miles. About 3 miles past the weigh station, you will see signs for route 34, Somis/Oxnard and Somis Road. You’ll turn left there (this is at a light). You’ll be on route 34 west. Route 34 is marked as a truck route. Take route 34 west 4.1 miles until you come to Daily Road- Daily Road will be a right turn just before you cross under the 101 freeway overpass. Turn right on Daily and follow it to Carmen Driver where you will see signs for the ramp to route 101 north.
If you miss the turnoff for route 34 west you can continue straight on route 118 and it will take you over to the 126 freeway west which will bring you out onto 101 just north of Ventura. - NB

THERE IS A WEIGH STATION/CHECK STATION ON THIS ROUTE WHERE DOT SETS UP. Take the exit for route 34, Lewis Road. When you come off the ramp, you’ll be at a light. There is a sign for Lewis Road that points left. Turn left at the light. You’ll go down .1 miles to the light at Lewis Road and turn left. This is route 34 east toward Somis. You’ll 4.1 miles to the dead end at the light at route 118. Route 34 is marked as a truck route. When you get to route 118 turn right. You are about 3 miles away from the check station where DOT sometimes sets up. You’ll take route 118 about 8 miles to the ramp for route 23 south. There is a Target on your right shortly before you get to route 23. Take route 23 south about 8 or 9 miles to route 101 south.
The long route if you are coming south out of Santa Barbara is to take route 126 east to I 405. This puts you out just north of the north bound I 5 weigh station in Santa Clarita. - SB
