March 15,2016 around 2:45pm. My husband and I were driving to Wichita. There were a couple of trucks that passed us and were still passing us as we got closer to the scale house. The first sign said it was closed. As we get to the scale house it said OPEN. There were trucks backed up almost on I 35. There was a truck in the hammer lane (his tires were at our front bumper)and one in front of us (just short of a truck length). Who ever flipped the switch in that scale house is NOT paying attention.We were almost hit. I don't drive a truck but I do know you can't stop them on a dime. I also know that when trucks reach the flow of traffic It is a accident waiting to happen. The flow of traffic had to hit their breaks so these trucks could pull in to a already full scale house. The driver almost hit our car and as I see it.... the scale house is at fault if it happened. The first sign said closed and the last one on your way into the scale said open. To top it off the ramp was full and almost on I 35. If they had went passed I'm sure it would have been a lot of trouble for them. Someone needs to train for the scale house a little more before being turned loose. You have my email and if you would like to discuss this more I would be more than happy to call you.
