Alternate Route Information
leaving LA take I 405/I 5 north to highway 14 north toward Palmdale. There is a scale on 14 but it is an empty pullout area and I have never seen it open or heard of it being open. They would have to use portables. Take the Pearblossom Highway exit just south of Palmdale. This takes you down a big hill with a few lights on it. At the bottom of the hill, it dead ends into route 138. Turn right and go about 10 or 15 miles to route 18. This will be a left hand turn across 138 where 138 turns to the south. Take 18 east and it puts you on I 15 in the Apple Valley area, north of the Cajon scales. You can take I 15 north to I 40 east to leave the state.
